Scout’s decentralized identity management (DID) system allows users to control their own digital identity and share it with others on a need-to-know basis. DIDs are based on blockchain technology, which provides a secure and tamper-proof way to store and manage identity information.
In Scout’s decentralized identity system, users are the sole owners of their identity data. They can choose which organizations to share their data with, and they can revoke access to their data at any time. This gives users greater control over their privacy and security.
Scout DIDs will be used to replace traditional username and password logins. When a user wants to access a service (i.e., DRRIPP), they can simply present their DID to the service provider. The service provider can then verify the user's identity and grant them access to the service.
Scout’s identity management platform is based on a framework that will be open sourced at launch, enabling trustless authentication between end users and brands that coalesce surrounding communities.
